index2.jpgBongo news.com: The visiting delegation of Pakistan National Defence University on Monday lauded the Bangladesh Army for its role in the UN peacekeeping mission.
At a meeting with acting speaker Shawkat Ali at his parliament office, they also appreciated Bangladesh’s role in SAARC and other regional platforms as well as the democratic process in the country, said a handout.
The 16-member delegation was led by Air Commodore Pirzada Kamaluddin A Siddique.
Shawkat Ali appraised the delegation of the state of the parliamentary democracy and the governance system in Bangladesh.
Parliament secretary M Mahfuzur Rahman was also present on the occasion.
Later, the NDU delegation joined a views-exchange meeting with the members of the parliamentary standing committee on ministry of defence, led by the standing committee chair M Ibrahim Ali.
Various aspects of national security policy of Bangladesh as well as the functions of the parliamentary standing committees were discussed at the meeting.
