Kingpin of sea robbers’ gang was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Amgachhi canal area of Sundarbans early Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Akkas alias Rahim alias Jamal, 25, leader of Sagor-Saikat bahini.

After the gunfight, RAB members recovered huge firearms and ammunitions from the spot.

RAB-8 deputy commanding officer Major Adnan Kabir confirmed the matter to Media.
