Photo: TV grabPolice arrested five activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir including its Banani thana unit president along with 130 crude bombs from Mohakhali in Dhaka early today.

On information, a team of Banani Police Station conducted a drive in TB gate area ahead of the 48-hour hartal of the BNP-led 20-party alliance that began at 6:00am.

They arrested Banani unit president Mustafizur Rahman and his four associates along with the bombs, one kilogramme of gunpowder, two litres of petrol, five kilogrammes of stone chips and three kilogrammes of multi-pointed nails around 3.00am, a sub-inspector of the police station confirmed .
